Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — cricket gloves are handed and you should choose them based on your batting hand. You should specify Right / RH (right-handed batsman) or Left / LH (left-handed batsman) when purchasing. They differ only on the thumb finger. Picking the correct handed gloves provides you the most protection, especially to the exposed thumb finger in your batting stance.

To pick the right size for your batting gloves, measure from the base of your palm (wrist crease) to the tip of your middle finger.

This gives your hand length and based on that you can pick the sizes as follows:

  • Under 15cm — Boys
  • 16–18cm — Youth
  • 19cm+— Adult (Men’s) — the most popular adult size

If you find yourself between the standard sizes, go up. A slightly larger glove is more comfortable for a long innings. Also remember that cricket gloves are handed — specify Right / RH (right-handed batsman) or Left / LH (left-handed batsman) when purchasing.

Sausage gloves have fully padded rounded finger rolls and they generally offer maximum protection against fast bowling. They are less flexible and heavier, but the safest option. They are the traditional choice for openers and aggressive attacking against pace bowling.

Split finger gloves have one or more cuts in the padding per finger, which allows more natural hand movement. They provide better wrist rotation, feel lighter, and preferred by many modern batsmen.

In short, sausage or finger-rolled style gloves provide the most protection, while the split finger style gloves provide more flexibility. The right choice depends on how you bat and what you prioritise. Either ways, both are generally well-protected and flexible enough.

Yes — Zelion Cricket provides a 6 months limited warranty across the entire range of gloves. However, it does not cover damages caused by normal wear and tear or improper usage and is limited only to manufacturing defects.
  • Never machine wash as it destroys the stitching and padding
  • Air dry after every session by leaving it flat in shade and not direct sun
  • Do not use soap or alcohol to clean the leather palm, instead only wipe it with a damp cloth when dirty
  • Store flat or upright — do not compress the padding in your kit bag
  • Replace when padding compresses — when you feel impact through the fingers, the protection is gone

A well-maintained batting glove can last 1–2 seasons of regular use.
